How we handle your information - straight up, no corporate nonsense
We're architects, not tech giants. When you reach out about restoring that century-old factory or designing a Gothic-inspired structure, we collect what we need to actually do the work - nothing more. This isn't one of those "we value your privacy" statements where they then list 47 ways they're tracking you.
Based in Toronto, we follow Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA, for those who care about acronyms), which means we've got some pretty strict rules about how we handle your stuff.
When you fill out our contact form or shoot us an email, we'll grab your name, email address, phone number, and whatever details you share about your project. Pretty standard stuff - can't exactly design your building if we don't know who you are or how to reach you.
Whatever you tell us about your project - site location, existing structures, your vision for that Gothic tower you've been dreaming about, budget ranges, timelines. This stuff's essential for us to put together proposals that aren't complete shots in the dark.
We use basic analytics to see which pages people actually look at. Helps us know if anyone's checking out our heritage restoration work or if everyone's just here for the Gothic stuff. We're not tracking your every move across the internet - that's honestly just creepy.
Quick note: We don't buy email lists, we don't scrape data, and we're definitely not selling your info to marketing companies. That's not how we roll.
Getting back to you about your project, setting up consultations, answering questions about our Gothic Revival approach.
Creating proposals, developing designs, coordinating with engineers and contractors on your behalf.
Keeping records for contracts, permits, and regulatory compliance - can't avoid the paperwork, unfortunately.
Maybe once in a blue moon we'll send something about a major project we've completed or a relevant event. Not spam - promise.
We're not cybersecurity experts, but we take reasonable precautions. Our servers are secured, we use encrypted connections for data transmission, and access is limited to team members who actually need it for project work.
We're pretty territorial about client information. But there are a few situations where we might need to share:
What we DON'T do: Sell your data, trade email lists, share info with advertisers, or hand over details to random third parties. Not our style.
Under Canadian privacy law, you've got several rights when it comes to your personal information:
Want to see what info we have on you? Just ask. We'll pull it together and send it over.
Got something wrong? Let us know and we'll fix it. Typos happen, especially with project addresses.
Want us to delete your info? We can do that, unless we're legally required to keep it (like contract records).
Don't want marketing emails? Cool, just unsubscribe. We won't take it personally.
To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at studio@dreadspirex.info or give us a call at (416) 555-0187. We'll get back to you within a reasonable timeframe - usually a few business days, unless we're in the middle of a major deadline.
Our website uses some basic cookies - mostly for keeping the site functional and understanding which pages people visit. We're not doing anything invasive here.
Essential cookies keep the website working properly. Analytics cookies help us see which project types get the most interest. You can disable cookies in your browser if they bug you, though some site features might not work as smoothly.
We don't use advertising cookies or those creepy retargeting things that follow you around the internet showing you ads for Gothic spires.
We're not hoarders, but we do need to keep some stuff for legal and professional reasons:
After these periods, we securely delete or anonymize the data unless there's a specific legal reason to keep it longer.
We use a few external services to run the business. They have their own privacy policies, which you might want to check out:
If we need to update this privacy policy - maybe laws change, or we add new services - we'll post the updated version here with a new date at the top. For major changes, we might send an email to current clients.
We're not planning any dramatic shifts in how we handle data. The core principle stays the same: collect what we need, protect it properly, don't be creepy about it.
Look, privacy policies can be confusing. If you've got questions about how we handle your information, or if you want to exercise any of your rights, just reach out. We'd rather have a real conversation than have you wondering.
